A meeting was held on 26 May 2026 at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Manchester to discuss cooperation between the University of Manchester and higher education and skills institutions in Punjab. The meeting was attended by H.E. Adnan Afzal Chattha, Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Task Force for Skills Development in Punjab, H.E. Mr. Imtiaz Feroz, Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester, along with representatives from the University of Manchester.
Minister Adnan briefed the meeting on the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision for higher education and skills development. He said his department is actively seeking partners to help deliver quality technical training and capacity-building opportunities for youth in Punjab. The discussion focused on potential collaboration in areas including higher education, workforce development, curriculum support, and research.
The meeting agreed to establish a working group to further explore possibilities for mutual cooperation in different areas. Both sides expressed interest in continuing discussions and identifying practical next steps for future collaboration.
