Attestation of Educational Documents
It may please be noted that Higher Education Commission in Islamabad is responsible for the attestation of educational degrees/transcripts by the chartered universities of Pakistan. The details of attestation/equivalence procedure are available at HEC website (https://hec.gov.pk)
The Consulate General of Pakistan Manchester will only attest such documents if they are notarised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad or its camp offices.
The requirements for Attestation and Legalisation of documents vary depending upon nationality of the executant and origin of the document. Please read the following information carefully before visiting the Consulate for attestation / legalisation of your documents.
Attestation of a document other than the power of attorney:
All documents (such as birth, death, marriage, divorce certificates and educational degrees etc.) issued by the UK authorities/ entities needing attestation of the Consulate have to be first legalised by the Foreign & Common Wealth Office of the UK.
All documents (such as birth, death, marriage, divorce certificates and educational degrees etc.) issued by the departments of the Government of Pakistan needing attestation of the Consulate have to be first notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad or its four camp offices in the provincial capitals.

Requirements

  • Book an appointment prior to your visit of the Consulate for attestation/ legalisation
  • Visit the Consulate during Consular Services opening hours. You might like to check Contact Us section for information on planning your journey and public holidays
  • On your arrival please show your token number to security for access to the consular hall. Security will guide you to the Attestation counter. On busy days you might have to wait for your turn in the waiting area.
  • On your turn, the serving official will examine your documents and once satisfied, he/she will issue you a Challan receipt for payment of the required fee
  • Pay the fee at bank counter and go back to the first counter to submit your documents with the fee payment receipt
  • The serving official will receive your documents and will return the bank challan receipt (yellow) with collection time for your attested documents (usually same day between 1600 hrs till 1700 hrs)
  • Present your receipt at the counter during the collection time (between 1600 hrs till 1700 hrs) and collect your attested documents
  • Carefully check your documents before leaving the counter
