Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony held at Consulate General of Pakistan Manchester
To celebrate the 74th Independence Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Manchester today.
Consul General Mr. Tariq Wazir, hoisted the Pakistani flag at the Consulate backyard. Special messages of President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan to the nation were read out on the occasion.
In their messages, both leaders paid homage to the sacrifices and contributions of the founding fathers who struggled against heavy odds to create an independent homeland for the Muslims of the Sub-Continent. Consul General lauded the sacrifices of the nation which has shown tremendous resilience in the face of hardships and difficulties. He particularly acknowledged the contributions of the diaspora in Pakistan’s national and economic development, and their role in helping Pakistan combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
